| Should I buy a Sedan or SUV as my first car? | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | Mayur00 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I am looking to buy my first vehicle and I am getting different opinions on whether to buy sedan or SUV in Calgary, Canada. I am having small family and mostly I will be using vehicle for daily commute or short road trips. I am getting different opinions due to Calgary weather, people are suggesting to go with SUV instead of sedan as it's snows in winter. I am still tilted towards sedan as it mostly suits my needs. It will be great if someone help me out. | |||||
| Issue not fully diagnosed resulting in catastrophic damage (not injury) | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | brewjar | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello all, thanks in advanced for any help/opinions. 2020 Nissan Pathfinder S (3.5L) (6CYL, Cvt, 2wd) Miles: 46700 My Mallfinder issue started when I was driving a month ago (thanksgiving day) when the engine stalled. I was able to roll to a stoplight safely. Immediately the engine would not restart. I had it towed home. I spent a week attempting to determine the problem. No CEL/codes for OBDII. Check ALL fuses with a cheap fuse tester, then with a multimeter, tested switches/camshaft/crankshaft sensors as well. All in working condition. During that week I had intermittent "No Key ID," or something similar to that. Had to travel for work for a few days. When I returned I had hired a mobile mechanic who had confirmed all fuses and switches are in working order. No codes popped up for him either. He spent a good hour attempting to find the issue and came back with either a bad PCM or BCM as they are not communicating with each other. He stated I will need to take it to a dealer for their specialized equipment. I thanked him and had it towed to a Nissan dealer. I had to leave for work again, but they got back to me the next day. They stated I had a "blown ignition coil fuse." I did tell them I've check and that the mobile mechanic had already confirmed all fuses were working. He stated they replaced the fuse and and it ran. OK. Asked if I wanted some scheduled maintenance done, I said sure, brake fluid flush, fuel induction service and wiper blades. Didn't ever think I would pay that much for wiper blades! I return and pick up the vehicle two days later. Vehicle runs great! After driving for about 1.5 hours, my engine sputters and stalls; I look back and see grey smoke. I pulled over to the side of the freeway and called another tow truck. Then called the Nissan dealership and let them know. The next day I received a call from them. So, the fuse is blown, some of the COPs, O2 sensors and cats "blow up." Their words. They quoted me over $7000! I am at a loss here. Since I have had the vehicle, maintenance has been on time and never have had a CEL or OBDII code. I also believe if a fuse is blown, why wasn't the cause investigated. The real question: Am I responsible or should the Nissan dealership be responsible? I do welcome mechanic's opinions on this from their point of view. Thank you all for reading. Jared | |||||
| Thoughts on 10 Speed F150 | 12Relevance | 4 years ago | CurtParker72 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello, I was just curious of Scotty’s and other people’s opinions on the 10 speed transmissions that come in the newer F150s. I’m looking at a 2019 F150 with 14000 miles. My dad has a 2020 f150 with the same transmission. It only has 30,000 miles and has given him no trouble. Just curious of people’s opinions on these transmissions. Thanks for reading and for y’all’s time | |||||

| I'll say this first that this isn't a question, but I really do hope anyone who joins this forum and community reads this and appreciates this valuable community. I have been on this forum for almost a whole year and during this time I was present on other forums too (car related). People will always have differing opinions, but what is important is tolerating those differing opinions and saying what is in the interest of the person asking a question/seeking help. Also, the goal of the moderators/administrators should be helping too and not making profit. My account was recently put under review on a different forum because I advised someone to not buy a used truck because brand new was better in any aspect. The OP actually went ahead and bought new and thanked for the advice, but on that forum someone had their profit in the used truck in question and when I advised against it my comments started being removed and when I showed this is happening I became accused of hostility and being not civilized for bringing this up against a so-called administrator. What was important for me was that I was able to help someone make a better decision. But why I am saying this here is because on this forum anyone who states an opinion or thought or suggestion is stating it to help and nobody is after their own financial benefit from what they say. Posts don't get removed or edited unless it's against the community guidelines of being respectful and proper language etc. There is no unwritten guideline of "your post will be removed because of personal or financial reasons". Those who have been here for a while definitely know this, but for those who are new please know that everyone here wants to truly help you make a right decision about your question and what is beneficial to you. If you receive an opinion you don't like please know it's still with the intention to help. This is a true community and forum which wants to help so do appreciate it and take benefit of this valuable resource. | |||||
