| F150 Wheel hub assembly | 20Relevance | 6 years ago | Scratch50 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty, Second post regarding this issue and something seems odd. As posted before, I changed front rotors/pads on my 2015 F150XLT 2.7 eco and as soon as I finished and turned on the truck, my dash lit up with ABS light, Hill Start Asst Not Avail, parking brake Failure, parking Assist, and Service Advance Trac lights came on. I just returned from the Ford dealership having had them perform a diagnostic on the truck. The service writer said I have a bad front right wheel hub assembly and "if we replace that, all the lights will be taken care of." I asked ... | |||||

The parking brake does not fully hold (even after the adjustment of the brake shoe clearance): the car sometimes slowly creeps forward in Drive with the parking brake applied. | Gx470 Rear brakes | 20Relevance | 3 years ago | Momosabs | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty I have a 2004 GX 470 drives like a baby the only problem that I have is the rear brakes rotors keeps on getting really hot. I have changed the calipers, the rear brake lines, and bled the lines brake pads and rotors and adjusted emergency brake and made sure the brake pad nipples are greased and changed the brake pads and rotors for the second time within a matter of 1000 miles because half of the brake pads we’re gone but the brakes keep on sticking onto the rotors and getting it really hot and the brake pedal is really squishy not like my friends GX, which the brake pedal is really firm. Do you think its the master cylinder because the master cylinder is electronic not hydraulic so scotty can u help | |||||

| I'd like to add a demo about why ABS is needed (what happens if the wheels lock up) Also in the video he didn't mention that ABS enables the use of "Brake Assist" (A standard on most cars, Toyotas since '97)The way it works is by the car's computer determining the driver beginning to initiate a "panic stop", if such a determination is made, the computer overrides the brake input and engages maximum braking. This not only prevents cases in which the driver has not fully engaged the brake pedal by mistake, but also makes the "panic stop" faster by about 500-750 milliseconds which it would take the driver to fully engage the brake as it takes it only a few milliseconds to interpret the brake engagement as "regular" or "panic". (According to Mercedes, in a 1992 study they found has found that in 90% of accidents simulated on their driving simulator, Drivers have failed to put enough force on the brake pedal - Hence the need for brake Assist. Without ABS, brake assist would be useless as it'll just always immediately lock up the wheels.) | |||||
| Loss of braking power in startup | 20Relevance | 5 years ago | Mjhaley8 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello Scotty, I have a 2015 Jeep wangler JK sport with around 60,000 miles. We have been noticing an issue with braking power that I have never experienced in any car before. On a cold start, right after startup if the car is placed in drive or reverse (automatic), once the car gets up over 3mph I am unable to apply a full brake application. The brake pedal is firm and I stomp on it with both feet without it going to the floor, but it is not applying a full brake application and I roll to a stop (well past where I would normally). This only happens on the first brake application after startup of a cold engine. If I pump the brake a couple times before moving I have full stoping power and now problems. brake pads are good. Front rotors are good, rear rotors are a bit pitted but not bad. Master Cylinder reservoir has the appropriate amount of brake fluid. No discernible leaks. A friend suggested it may be the brake Booster losing vacuum. How do I check this and is it fixable or do I just replace the booster? | |||||
