| Does anybody knows a good reliable company from where I can buy a hybrid battery and of course, replacing the old one, for a Lexus ES 350, 2013? I maybe be forced to change the battery also for my girlfriend's Lexus, RX450H, 2012. In case You experienced this, could You Tell me, please, how much cost IT? A short answer from Lexus dealer in Florida put me down....minimum 5.000 dollars. Thanx! | |||||

| Scotty usuals in favor of of used hybrids. I beg to differ. I think some excellent deals can be found, especially if you know what to expect down the line and factor that into your costs. If the price is right, I’d jump on a Lexus Hybrid SUV used. | |||||

| Generally speaking, it’s not a great idea to buy older hybrids. But, 85K miles isn’t that much for a Lexus hybrid, especially if the previous owners took great care of it. If you can get it at a reasonable price and it’s in great shape, there’s no problem buying it. You said you’re only going to put 8K miles/year on it so it should be problem free for another 70K-80K miles. If you can get a good deal on it, go ahead - or else look for a normal Lexus RX. | |||||

| 2009 Lexus GS450h w/90500 miles. I enrolled full-time in college to reset life and parked my car to save money. The car previously gave me not a second of a problem... now I have a strange light on, only to be told that my high voltage battery needs replacing due to the lack of usage. Since the verdict, I try to drive the car at least weekly and notice the energy in the high voltage battery fluctuates but depletes when the car is idle. How long will the battery sustain at this rate? The dealership tried to scare me into trading, but not an option... they quoted a replacement for a high voltage battery at 9k. I found a battery online for 3k but cannot afford it at this time. Your help is really appreciated. | |||||

| Hello! Scotty, short story long, I want to buy a car SUV. FIRST option is Lexus RX450h, although the 2014-2016 are quite expensive. I like quite much a Toyota Venza, 2013, 2.7 engine but I am afraid IT is sluggish even at 50-75 mph on highway. The average mpg is not good, with 20/26 mpg. Have You ever drive a 2.7 Venza? Remarks? Now, the second option is a Subaru FORESTER but only XT, 2014-2016. How reliable is? The third is KIA SORENTO, 2016-2018 - I would normally prefer 2018, only with 2.0 engine. HondaCR-V 2016 also looks interesting, albeit is not looking extremely powerfull. Or Toyota RAV4 2014-2017, although... definitely, it's not looking as a babe....it's...remarkably ugly.... Last would be a Buick Envision - yeah, made in China, and GMC Terrain/Chevy Equinox 2.4 or 2.0, no engine under 2.0. I have never found an owner fully content for his/her Mitsubishi, either Outlander, Eclipse Cross....after 150.000 Miles. Are they so terrible? | It should be fine for a while but after a few years repairs would start costing $$$$ so for long term I'd get a regular gasoline version. If you don't drive much and take care of it then Toyota makes great hybrids so it may not be a bad idea to buy it. | Hi, I am looking to replace my recently stolen car and have been offered a 2011 Lexus Rx450h with 85,000 miles on the meter. The car has perfect service records and is in excellent shape inside and out - no scratches or excessive wear and tear. It surely looks great but its age is troubling me. It has just been checked by a company specializing in hybrids and pronounced problem-free. I like the fact that it has been pampered by the previous owner. I wonder what Scotty will have to say about this. One more thing - the price is right by European standards. And, I don't plan to drive it more than 8,000 miles a year. Neither do I plan to keep it very long unless I get to like it too much. | |||||

| Just set aside a few thousand on repairs for those hybrids as it’s getting up there in mileage. It can get costly pretty quick, which is why a regular gas version would have been better. | |||||

| Its an ok deal I guess I prefer the gasoline ones but hey take care of it it should be a great car. Just realize hybrids usually fall apart (even Toyotas) around 200-250k miles. | |||||
