Neither if you can help it. GM quality has taken a nosedive past few years. Not so much design problems as it is manufacturing problems. Rear ends assembled in Mexico way out of tolerance, have more play than rear ends over 10 years old and 80k miles on em. Transmissions dropping before first oil change. There was one guy on here, he didn’t realize it until after he bought it but two centercaps on his rims were GM, the other side were Buick. And at 500 miles the dealer wouldn’t fix it.

Pass on both.  If you really must have one, only lease.  But for purchase, I cannot recommend either.

I would never buy either

Encore over the Trailblazer.  Both are made in South Korea.

RAV4 and CRV over the Trailblazer.  Both are made in USA.

Honda HRV over the Encore.  And if you wait, there is a new HRV coming out this Summer (bigger and better).

HRV is made in Mexico. 

Mazda also has similar models worth a look. 

I’d avoid those and get a Toyota, Honda, or Mazda. But if you’re the type of person who likes to throw money away and buy a new car every 5 years, go for it.
