Would someone suggest a car battery charger to keep in the garage?
thanks
Schumacher is a name brand.
Make sure it can supply at least 75A, so you can use it to start your vehicle in a bind.

Most suggestions I get are for Battery Tender. I myself purchased a Noco branded one, because I liked the specs a bit better, and it worked fine.
If referring to a battery tender or trickle charger, I went with a premium brand Ctek and highly recommend them: I don’t have the model on me at the moment (will get for you) but I’ve had it for over 5 years with no issues. I had previously bought a cheapo $20 Schumacher brand from Walmart and it shortened the lifespan of my batteries. Getting a trickle charger is an investment into the life and health of your battery, so I recommend getting a good one (if your budget allows) as they are not all created equal.

I bought one similar to this about 45 years ago and it still works great. It will charge a completely dead battery.

The newest electronic chargers won't bring a battery off the floor if it ran dead. They need a minimum amount of volts to start the charge cycle. The old style chargers that are not electronic will bring back a fully discharged battery. Schumacher is good. I like battery tender to leave on a trickle on my rv battery all winter or the zero turn mower all the time. But the harbor freight chargers are fine too for a fast charge.
