02 ford explorer 200,000 miles needs intake manifold. have put a band-aid with high temp sealant at site of anti-freeze leak causing #5 plug misfire but it is time to replace. Have not yet made decision on OEM from dealer 380 bucks vs aftermarket ranging 220-280. any and all opinions welcome, solid running vehicle transmission rebuilt 20 thousand miles ago. leaning for cheaper but can be talked out of it,… have a good day.

I have had to address this a couple of times, If you search the people that do the swap go o.e.m. ford if your going to keep the vehicle. you will have a lot less trouble. the fit is right. the dorman manifolds have screws for the coils that are cheap and may cause you trouble.  The manifolds had leak issues in 1999 2004 4.6 mustang Gt's  and crown vic's that is how I know about them. here is a link with manifolds  https://www.summitracing.com/search/department/air-fuel-delivery/section/intake-manifolds/make/ford/engine-size/4-6l-281

You got it. Ford had a class action law suite over the manifolds. They had to replace the years in question on them, But the time has run out unfortunately. Now we pay
