Scotty, Love the site and you tube channel. 04 Nissan Pathfinder 3.5L 80,000 miles automatic. My Pathfinder seems to have basic green coolant in it. Is this right or should I flush it and replace it and if so with what kind? Thanks
What does your owner’s manual recommend?
It is time to change the coolant (if it has not been changed before), flush the system and use what recommends in the owner's manual.
Check your car report to see when the last change was. If it never was then go and change it. If it still looks green and not like old vomit your coolant is probably okay. Don't need to fix what ain't broke if your temperature is all good. Whatever you do don't mix the coolants and make sure the flush is proper if need be.
The green is probably universal which is not necessarily the right coolant. In some videos, I've seen yellow. If I were you, I'd call a couple of Nissan dealer parts department, and ask them. See if the answers are consistent.
