2004 Saturn Vue when to replace timing belt?

hey scotty big fan of your channel my mom has a 04 saturn vue with 50,000 miles and seems to run fine when is it a good idea to change out the timing bet?

You failed to state what engine the vehicle has.

If it has the 3.5 V6 Saturn specified that it should be changed every 100,000 miles. Saturn did not seem to specify a maximum age, but that's a Honda engine and Honda says to change the belt every 105,000 miles or 7 years, whichever comes first. The water pump should be changed along with the belt. If that engine still has its original 18-year-old rubber timing belt, by any measure it is way past its use-by date. The 3.5 V6 is an interference engine so it will self-destruct if the timing belt breaks.

If it has the 2.2 4-cylinder engine that has a timing chain, not a belt.
