05 Sebring shifting late

Hello, I have a 2005 Chrysler Sebring with the 2.7L V6 and 4 speed automatic with 70,000 miles. I just bought the car a few months ago and just recently tried using the cruise control on the highway. The cruise control pulls my gas pedal down revs the engine way up to 30-3500 rpm. The engine threw a code but it was only an oxygen sensor and was quickly cleared, but now my transmission shifts late and it was running smoother before. Is it possible my wacky cruise control caused damage to my transmission or could I maybe fix it if I changed the filter and or fluid.

P.S, I live in a cold climate too so I’m wondering if the temperature could affect shifting.

best regards, Kyle.

The way it pulled your gas pedal to the floor sounds like the cruise control's speed control servo/module             (Mopar part# 4669977)  has failed.

When it did it may have created a vacuum leak which is responsible for your other driveability issues.
