Hey Scotty, I’ve got a delayed engagement on my 05 Tacoma v6 automatic. It sits there and thinks about for about 5-10 seconds and then goes into first gear. Going into reverse is fine, and other higher gears seem to be okay too. It doesn’t do it after driving it for a half hour or so. It only started happening about six months ago, but has gotten worse. Is this a transmission solenoid problem?

First check the fluid level.
