I have a 2nd gen CR-V, preventatively thinking about replacing the AC compressor. Any suggestions on a quality replacement unit? Thanx

Is your original compressor making noise, leaking, or weak? Clutch slipping? If not I would say if it's not broken don't fix it.

If you do replace it the primary consideration is to stay away from rebuilt compressors and only go with new ones. At a minimum the drier should also be replaced.

I would, under most circumstances agree to leave well enough alone, but if a compressor fails on this vehicle, it will become a VERY expensive fix!
I completely agree on not using a rebuilt one.
Check out some videos on YouTube related to the AC systems on CR-V's, you'll see why I'm thinking about an early replacement.
Thanx for your input.
I would still like to know about some suggestions on a good brand replacement.

For whatever it's worth I've had a UAC brand compressor on my daily driver for about 8 years now and it's been fine. You'll get a better idea though from someone who does AC work professionally.

UAC, I'll look into that manufacturer. Once again thanx for your help! Happy motoring. 🙂
