My dad was driving his 07 avalanche and his brake caliper dragged. He has OEM calibers dose he need new ones?

Are you trying to say that the caliper scraped against the inside of the rim? That means they weren't installed properly. How bad are they?
Not too bad it has minor wear
I'll take that as a yes. I'd be more worried about the wheels.
That's a horse of a different color if the calipers are grinding against the wheels!

It's most likely the calipers but brake hoses can also cause that problem if they start to deteriorate internally, they start acting like check valves and prevent hydraulic pressure from releasing. (I've had this happen.)
Dam time to get hoses.
