Thinking about buying an 07 FJ Cruiser base model. 159,000 miles, no rust, no fender bulge. 2 wheel drive, very clean. $15,000 seems high, but it’s a lot less than similar mileage 4wd models. Not sure if it would be decent in the snow, but we don’t get much snow in western KY. Any advice? Thanks!
Why would anyone even want an FJ Cruiser if it wasn't 4wd?
Exactly, sucks all the fun out of it.
In North America, that was the first model year and it had more issues than any other model year in that generation, in particular transmission shudder at speeds 35-45 mph (model years 2008+ didn’t seem to have it as much) as well as bulging/cracked fenders and frames rusting. Not sure how widespread the issues were, but , ideally, it’s best to look several years into a generation when issues are usually ironed out.

The 4wd models are off road beasts, so they have great resale value, and are collectors items now.
As for the 2wd models, now sure, but I would not want one. Those things have horrible back seat room, and have a tight cabin.
My question would be, why do you want it? Like, are you planning to play off road, or just like the style or something?
15K seems a bit high for a 2wd model if you ask me.
too much money
We’re moving to Upper Michigan and there will be a lot of off road driving there and I just like their design for the cruiser
The FJ Cruiser has a strong following. And they seem to depreciate less than other cars because of this. IMHO, $15K is too much for a decade+ old 2WD, SUV. But it is the FJ Cruiser, so many people are willing to pay that.
