2007 Toyota Corolla brake fluid leak ok?

Hello, I just did a rear brake job on my 07 corolla. When I was putting the rear spring on it slipped and I hit the cylinder rubber and a little brake fluid came out from under cylinder rubber. I put it all together and road tested it and i have full pedal on the brakes. There is no sponge feeling at the pedal at all. Should I replace the wheel cylinders or is a little fluid normal in that situation?

Make sure you do not have any leak. Also, check the brake fluid reservoir level and if is is lower than minimum, add some.

No leak is acceptable in your brake system. Replace those 15-year-old wheel cylinders, or calipers if disc brakes back there. (Possibly the fluid was never changed, leading to deterioration of the seals.) Also check your brake linings. If they've been contaminated with leaking brake fluid replace them.

You don't need to worry about the rubber. It's just a dust boot.

If the cylinder is leaking noticeably, then you should replace it. They only cost $10-$20
