Hey scotty! I have 2008 Honda Element Ex automatic transmission with 124,000 miles and it has the check engine light flashing on and off but then it goes away. It did it before and i scanned it and it had a misfire on the 1st cylinder. So i got all new denso spark plugs and replaced the coil packs with duralast coils and it worked for a while but now its doing it again. I dont know what it could be i need help.
Hi If the check engine light flashes, you should not drive the car, it may damage your car. Misfire has so many reasons, from blown head gasket to spark plugs. You should pin point the issue.
@yaser it happens off and on when i try to accelerate up to highway speeds and going up big hills
Change the fuel filter and the pressure test the fuel pump. Clean your MAF sensor and change your engine air filter.
And avoid the situations which results in blinking the engine light. It means it is likely a sign of a serious damage to your engine. So, baby your car till you figure out the problem and solve it.
