i have a 2020 Toyota CH-R which calls for 0w-20 oil. Should I switch to the 0w-16 oil? The Toyota dealership said it wasn’t necessary plus it costs a lot more
No stay with manufacturer recommendation. buy good synthetic oil and avoid bulk oil lube shops
If CR-H calls for 0W-20 oil, stay with 0W-20 oil! 0W-16, as I understand, is only used in Toyota’s "Dynamic Force Engines".
As to the cost of one over other, in my end of the woods, jug of Mobil1 of either sells for the same price.
F.S.
The fraction of fuel economy improvement wouldn't be worth it.
How do you like the CH-R? Scotty did a video on one recently.
I love it. The cvt with the launch gear makes a huge difference. I don’t know why reviews says it’s slow taking off from a stop. Only bad thing is the blind spots when looking over to pass or switch lanes because of the small back door windows
Good to know. Daughter wants a little SUV-ish car. Trying to lead her away from Detroit junk.
That oil is waaaay too light for your engine. Stick with the 0w-20 oil. And why would you want to switch to that oil weight if it costs more AND not recommend for your engine?
