Will 0w16 oil help with the oil issues on a Chevrolet equinox?

A very brief Google search reveals class action lawsuits on this ecotech engine, due to defective design and manufacturing of piston rings, which wear out at low miles. Here's the details of the class action lawsuit:

You're less than a year past the cutoff date for a reimbursed engine rebuild, for the 2013 model.

I'd get rid of the thing, frankly, and buy a better vehicle, such as CRV or RAV4, if circumstances allow.

No it will still leak more than likely.  It could also be burning the oil.   I would get rid of it an equinox will end up being nothing but trouble.

What issue do you have?

What is the model year and how many miles?

2013...67k miles. Having to add 2 quarts of oil a month or so. I know it's a known issue.

The issue you have is oil loss, either burning or leaking, which you should figure it out.

Nope. Sorry 🙂
