Looking at a 2009 Toyota Camry for $1000. It's got a little bit over 177,000 miles on it. It's needs a new exhaust, there's a crack in the windshield, needs new tires, and it apparently needs suspension work (The owner didn't specify which part of the suspension yet). But apparently the car still starts and drives. Should I buy it, or would I be wasting my money?

You'd be wasting your money if it needs thousands of dollars worth of repairs to be roadworthy. On top of all the other repairs it needs if that car has the 2AZ-FE 2.4 engine it's very likely an oil burner.

The reason it is so cheap is probably because it is the 2AZ-FE 2.4 engine! What @chucktobias said.
