11.3 volts at socket, light still doesn't work.

Right headlight bulb doesn't work. Have 11.3 volts at socket. Tried the working bulb from the other side and it doesn't work on right side. I'm lost. Thanks, Frank

You should have higher voltage (>12.5 V) at the socket.

Check your grounding for this light.


Thanks for the answers. I back tracked and found a bad relay which fixed the problem. I had checked the fuse but quit looking since I had voltage at the socket. The working side had 11.5 volts. I just don't understand everything about the electrical system and how it works. Thanks so much for being available.


If you keep in mind that electricity has to move in a circuit, from its source and back to the battery (the grounding circuit) you can trace things. Glad you found the problem.
