I have looked for a 1968 oldsmobile toronado tilt/telly steering wheel or one from a 1967 since i was told that will work. Seems to be almost impossible to find these besides many are junk..  So I do find after market adapters for 1969 toronados on up but not 1968.  Again I've been told one of those will work but the telescopic lock needs some kind of modification.

Since I'm not a expert I appreciate it if theres some onw out there who is familar with what I'm referring too to help me out.

Thanks

Alex

I don't know much about sourcing parts for old cars but ebay is generally where I would point someone. https://www.ebay.com/b/Steering-Wheels-Horns-for-Oldsmobile-Toronado/33704/bn_1465652

I had the same deal on my 68 Cadillac. When you put the adapter for a later model on, the tele lever no longer lines up. You have to eliminate it. To do this, you need to place the wheel in the position you wish and run a bolt down the center of the tele mechanism. This will lock the wheel in place. The tilt still works fine. The tele is functional but you been to remove the wheel to adjust, or spend several hundred dollars at a machine shop getting custom lock levers made. It wasn't worth it to me.

Hope this helps....
