Hey Scotty,
I've recently seen a 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood for sale for $3800, from the pictures shown it looks like it has been taken great care of, supposedly it has 60k miles. Do you think that's believable given the price? Is this a good price in general given the age, if not what do you think the car could be worth? Is this a good car in general to consider buying. Thank you.
The Cadillac 4.1 V8 was not the best motor that Cadillac made. If you want that car, baby the engine; the head is made out of cast iron and the block is made out of aluminum. The two different metals react differently with heat resulting in sealing issues. Cast Iron on Aluminum is a completely different story than Aluminum on Cast Iron.
i had a 83 with the same crappy engine. offer him as low as he will go then get ready to pull the 4.1 and replace it with a chevy 305
