I have a 1986 Camry and I need struts. My mechanic need the complete assembly.
because he doesn’t have tool to complete job. I can’t seem to get them complete. I can get them apart just not complete assembly. Any opinions? I can do the car has 65000 miles on it and worth getting the struts fixed. Any opinions? Please I’m stuck. [personal contact info redacted].
gary costello.
Apparently the complete strut assemblies are not available as I checked rockauto.com, car parts.com and even kyb.com. So you will need to find a mechanic who is able to compress the coil springs and replace just the individual struts. I would recommend choosing a reputable front end shop that would be able to perform an alignment after replacing the struts. They may need to check for other worn parts as well.
