Boat motor lacks power

Hi Scotty,

I hope you can help.  I have a 1989 Sport Nautique ski boat with a 351 Ford Windsor motor.  It runs good when it first starts but when it warms up it looses power.  We changed, carburetors twice (new not rebuilt),

gas tanks, filters, spark plugs. Feels like it is not getting gas once it is warm.  If we put starting fluid after it is warm it fires for a minute.  Any suggestions?  I know this is not a car, but maybe you can help.  Nautique dealers only know the new stuff.  The boat is older than their mechanics.

Completely stumped.

Thanks for reading my question.

New fuel pump, a properly set up carburetor.  Check the accelerator pump diaphragm for correct amount of squirt, idle mixture and idle speed, float level, etc.

Adjust your carburetor to run the engine properly. They're not set up for any particular engine out of the box.
