Hello Scotty, I have a 1992 Honda Civic DX Automatic 280,000 miles that has recently been getting bad gas mileage and poor acceleration/power. Every morning when the engine is cold, as soon as I get to about 50mph the check engine light comes on. Once the car is turned off and then cranked back up the light goes out, or when it is warm outside and cranked up the check engine light never comes on only when the engine is cool and it is cool in the morning. I was able to keep the car running while the check engine light was glowing to check it by putting a paper clip in the OBD1 port and get the check engine light to flash the code. The code ended up being 43 which when I looked up said Fuel Supply System, but I do not know what to look at replacing or fixing to get the mileage back to great and get that check engine light to stop coming on every single morning. I already changed the O2 sensor not too long ago and just changed the spark plugs and wires with NGK plugs and wires thinking that would improve my mileage and power, but it did not. Also, if the car has been sitting for a day after it has rained it does have trouble firing up which sounds fuel related to me as I try cranking it because after it has started up it will fire up immediately the next time it gets cranked. Thanks for the help!
Clean the fuel injectors.
Pressure test the fuel line and load test the battery and alternator.
