Hey Scotty grinds when I put it in first gear. replaced the clutch, shifter, fluid is good. Replaced cv axles. What else could it be. It has 138,000 miles manual 1993 Mazda protege

It's probably the synchro. At that age, it's probably worn out and in need of a new transmission.

Sounds like your clutch is dragging a bit as well as a bad synchro. With car running, push in the clutch all the way, wait about 5 seconds then put it into first. If it grinds then the clutch is dragging.
