I have a 95 ck1500 on cold start it idles rough literally sounds like it has a cam secs pass by n idle fine the truck ran fine it will go reverse but sometimes shut off on reverse omw to work the truck rpm will go high n not go faster then 60 left me stranded not shifting towed it home
week pass i turn the truck on idle rough and i shirfted all the gears to see if it will shift and it did then it stopped after some minutes
Before i touch my transmission os there something else that can make it not shift??
Well, in a modern truck there are many things that can cause shifting problems. But unfortunately on those old things it's almost always the transmission going out. That's the weakest part of a 95. Have a pro like myself. Road tested with the scan tool and he can tell quite a bit about what's happening without just pure guesswork
