Hello I have a e300 Mercedes diesel with 240k miles.
took the transmission out to get rebuilt.
checked rear main seal on the crank shaft, and it’s dry no leaks.
should I still replace it?

well if this car is worth a rebuilt transmission to you, then it's probably worth a RMS.
26 year old Merc I wouldn't have bothered.
It’s because the engine runs like new. And all the good cars I’ve tried to buy are all messed up, or when I get to go see them they’ve been bought.
