1995 Ford F350 7.3 Gas engine.

I have a 1995 ford f350 non dually automatic 7.3 gas engine with 88 thousand miles, some times when I put it in reverse the gear enters too strong, feels like a kick. Do you think that Lucas transmission fix may help it? if it does how many liters do I need to pump out of the transmission and replace it with the Lucas product? thank you for your time.

Lucas additive is a temporary crutch that may or may not help for a period of time. When is the last time the transmission was properly serviced?

the transmission fluid it's clean, I don't know when was replaced, I bought the truck about 8 years ago, it came with 72020 miles on it, it currently has about 88k, so the transmission is not damaged I think just need to be used more.

Possibly the fluid was changed but not the filter. Might be better to do a fluid and filter change before resorting to additives like Lucas.

I wouldn't use the Lucas. @chucktobias has a better suggestion. In 8 yrs you've only added 2k miles a year. If the hard shift into reverse has only recently started then try a traditional fluid & filter change first. Once you put an additive in you can take that back, so try a traditional service before exploring any other avenues.

line pressure is too high. So the solenoids, valves, or acumulators are sticking.

I think the transmission is just old. The seals harden, the metal springs fatigue, and the lack of use has gelled the fluid.

I think the filter is going to be in rough shape just from deterioration. I would change that.

I'm inclined to agree. Cars that don't get driven tend to languish. It's not getting a chance to get hot and exercised.

Since you barely drive the thing, I think you'll just have to live with it.

My personal experience, I changed the ATF in various used cars. Then the started to slip. Lucas helped a little bit but it never drove quite as well.

As Scotty and others have stated, if it's never been changed after years, don't bother. It's on borrowed time already.

Please post where Scotty stated " if it's never been changed after years". To my knowledge, Scotty said "miles", and this doesn't have that many. Time doesn't use up the clutches.

Take a quart of Transmission Fluid out of your Truck and then put a whole Bottle (or more) of Lucas Transmission Fix Fluid

If it's stopped slippin', hooray 🎉

If it's still slippin', drive it conservatively and prepared a reasonable amount of money to get Ford Factory Remanufactured Transmission, in case of your Truck's Transmission is breaking down in the Future

PS: Ford Factory Remanufactured Transmission is Extremely Very Good than taking your Truck's Transmission to the Local Transmission Repair Shop

where does it say his transmission is "slipping"?
