Hello, I am thinking about buying a 1995 Honda Passport EX 4x4, manual with 210,000 miles on it! I don't know much about Honda's, what is your advice? I hear Scotty say that Honda makes the best engine but make sure to get the manual transmission, is that true here as well?

The 1995 Honda Passport is actually a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo. Not a bad vehicle by any means. But also, it’s not a Honda like you are looking for.

Isuzu’s never really caught on in the United States. They had decent quality, like most Japanese brands in the late 80’s early 90’s.

They’re asking too much for a 280,000 mile run 4Runner.. Out of those two, I’d get the 4Runner provided it passes a mechanic’s inspection.

A 26yr old vehicle is too old to be a reliable daily driver, in my opinion.

Bargain hard for the Toyota..

Those are good vehicles but that old you're taking a big Campbell don't pay much

He is asking 1200 for it but I'm thinking he'll take 1k, is that too much? I plan to have it checked out by a mechanic with emphasis on the timing!

I am also looking at a 2004 4Runner with 280k on it for 6,000, would that be a better rig?

6 Grand for a 4Runner with 280k miles is absurd, I would offer him $3-4 grand.

Either haggle hard on the 4Runner or find one with lower miles, make sure to have a mechanic check them out either way. The Passport isn't a Honda, its an Isuzu.
