Geez ….I’m new and I apologize .
No problem, just making you aware of it.

Check the actual engine temperature with an infrared thermometer. When was the last time you flushed the coolant out of the system?
Well I purchased a new intake with new thermostat and took it in to what I thought was a mechanic . When I went to go pick it up which was 10-15 miles away and before I got it back home it was running hot . So I thought a faulty thermostat so I bought a new one and replaced it . But as far as flushing it out I’ve not did that . Any chance flushing it out with a water hose would work? I
As you can probably tell I’m no mechanic not even shade tree . Im a woman that’s getting aggravated with my husband finding all these mechanics that just seems to be ripping him off .so I I’m turning to this place for advice . And hopefully I posting/ commenting correctly. Thanks for your help.

Follow this procedure, only if it's cold outside, don't use straight water. Give it a good flushing and you can negate the last part.
One thing Scotty doesn't mention is the heater core is the highest part of the cooling system, so when you go to fill it back up, fill up the radiator as far as it will go, then set the car on an incline, nose up, and start adding more coolant. Set the heater to max heat and crank it up to full blast. Keep adding radiator fluid, slowly letting it "burp". When it won't accept anymore coolant, feel the heat. It will be hot.
Don't use aftermarket thermostats. Only use an OEM thermostat. I believe Motorcraft manufacturers thermostats.
Good luck!
