My 1997 Mk 1 Rav 4, 173k miles has occasionally started cranking but not starting. Trusted garage can find nothing wrong. Any ideas please?

any Check engine light or anything? What does it do when it finally starts? Could be fuel or spark related possibly cam or crank sensor issue
Thanks. No check engine light. When it does start it is perfect.
Think maybe dodgy fuel so have topped up with premium unleaded and added Reddex to see.
