Hello, I have a question regarding my 1998 Toyota 4runner. Recently i’ve seen that I got a check engine light. It vibrates a ton when in idle and accelerating. It has 265k miles, any ideas on what it is and what should i do with it? Thank you very much in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What is the code you got?
I haven’t received a scan yet to look for codes, although I am looking. for one. Should I just buy a scan tool or take it to a mechanic and check?

Get a compression test and scan for codes.
Thank you for that information, i’ll look into it.
Start by going to a chain auto parts store, they will scan it for free.
