I have an 1998 Civic with an automatic trans and 195,000 miles. Last week the tachometer started acting up. When i start the car the needle jumps so its pointing straight down. It randomly starts working while im driving, but it will read wrong (the needle will be at 4k rpm at idle, when its actually only at 1k).
if i was going to keep the car i wouldn't worry about it and just keep driving it. but im selling it to the neighbor kid and i want to make sure its working properly for him.
