Hello i have a 1999 tacoma 2wd 3.6 with 311,000 miles. I realized that I had not changed my ATF in some time and was wondering if toyota brand (ATF- WS) would work for My truck. I tried looking up the compatibility but I can't find anything about it online.
Have you tried the owner's manual?

No the WS is used in newer models and not supposed to be used with vehicles that had the older type- IV I think it was.
I have used Amsoil's non fuel efficient signature series atf and was very happy with it in both a 98 corolla and 98 4runner. The fuel efficient one is for vehicles that used the WS from the factory. I have also used Valvoline Max Life and pleased with it in several vehicles. Scotty mentions using that in a video in our faq section at the bottom under transmissions.
