2 cars: Which is better for a daily driver on a short commute?

Dear Scotty,

You're a godsend for all the info you help us with!

I have a 2005 RWD Chrysler Crossfire coupe with a 6 speed standard transmission and 119K miles: I bought it with 50K miles in 2014.

I also have a 2012 AWD Cadillac CTS Coupe with a 6 speed automatic transmission and 86K miles: I bought it with 70K miles in 2020.

I do all the regular maintenance per your advice and both vehicles run strong.

My commute is only about 8 miles a day round trip in traffic that can be stop/go or average about 40 mph.

Given the comparative ages/mileages/transmissions of both vehicles, which would be better to use as the daily driver to maximize the lives of both, especially considering they are both GM?

which would be better to use

Why do you ask?  Can you only drive or insure ONE of them?

I guess if I had to get rid of one it would be the Crapsler.

If you're going to own both anyway, just drive the one you like better, or feel like driving that day (or uses less fuel if that's your situation).

I don't think there's a significant difference in lifetime. I think the Crossfire will give you more headaches though.
