Hi Scotty, do you recommend a new or slightly used car which will last 20 years (200k miles) with reasonably low maintenance? What car(s) do you suggest?
I’d go for a used car from the Toyota/Honda lineup and religiously stay on top of the maintenance and don’t drive like a maniac if you want it to last 20+ years. Now some exceptions, if you are looking at used and price is only a few thousand less than new, and since you plan to keep for 20 years, you might as well get new. Also, some earlier years of a new generation may have had sone issues (even Toyota’s!) so you really have to do your research. Check the link at FAQ, do your research, use the Search feature on this Forum, and ask here as well as you hone in on a vehicle.

Slightly used is your best bet you would save money. Also look for a reliable model like mentioned above Toyota Honda etc. you should also check out the FAQ for used cars where you can do research.
Daywalker exactly correct. I would say Honda/Toyota but do your research. An always, if you do not change oil very religiously and do needed maintenance, it will not make 200K.
The best car for that is a truck. A tundra or f150 with a naturally aspirated V8. Most trucks are simpler and made of more durable parts than most cars.
