Scotty,
What are the best (HIGH QUALITY, e.g. rotors that won't warp) replacement brakes (rotors, pads & calipers) to get for my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 with 4.0L I-6 and Selec-trac (currently at 138,315 miles)? I WANT TO KEEP THIS JEEP FOREVER. I had the rear brake rotors, pads and calipers replaced by my almost always reliable mechanic and after only ~500 miles, I'm getting annoying brake pulsation through the brake pedal. At the time my mechanic replaced the rear brakes, he didn't have time to do the fronts, and the rear brakes were worse (rusting). Not sure if the pulsation is coming from the front or the rear. I need to take it in and put it on the lift to check it out. The trouble is that I hardly ever get a day off (Working like a one-armed paper hanger, here! Driving a company vehicle.) and so I rarely get to drive my own vehicle. I need to replace the front rotors, pads and calipers rotors, as well.
Thanks,
- Mac
If it's the front rotors you'll feel it in the steering wheel.
Any good brand of rotor should be OK (Bendix, Raybestos, Centric, Brembo). Just about all are made in China now.
I just feel it in the brake pedal, so it's probably the new rear brakes..
smh [rhetorical] What isn't made in China these days?
