I am having issues with my headlights and am uncertain how to troubleshoot on my own. Currently the Headlight switch panel to the left of the steering wheel only works some of the time, Have to remove the panel and press the connector into the socket hard to get it to light up when not working and only works until I release the connector to operate the running lights. My headlights also do come on very often even if that panel is working and when they do work it is random when they stop or start working every time I turn the car on or off. I do not believe it is an issue with the bulbs as when it does work both work, also have made sure that the fuses for the lights arent blown. I am also getting dipped beam failure on the messages panel. I am at a loss as to where to go next. I want to avoid a mechanic if possible and fix it myself as I am capable just a little stuck on the next step in troubleshooting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Sounds like you need a new headlight switch panel & relay.
Did the S80 have a recall too, for the headlight switch, like the S70? -
