TCS OFF light and SLIP light come on. Ob2 Codes STPS(secondary TPS) don't remember the exact fault code number.
I think someone may have vandalized my car and caused this problem. Do you have any idea as to what someone could do to cause these lights to come on and as a result the car runs horrible. Kinda like its missing, but more of a lack of power. Maybe all the cylinders aren't firing because the computer thinks I'm loosing traction due to the lights on the dash. Sometimes the lights will go out and car returns to normal performance. Its almost as if it goes through a cycle or time lapse to return to normal for a period of time then back to tcs off/slip lights illuminate the dash and horrible performance. When its acting up i get terrible gas milage.
Thanks Scotty, and welcome to the Volunteer State hope you like it here. Glad to have you here.
Well somebody did vandalize it good luck on finding the problem if you know the area that was vandalized to have a mechanic check there those are very complex systems to feed back to the computer and the running of the vehicle and if you get a short or broken wire or damaged parts it can be a real rats nest to repair and sometimes it will also damage the computers
Hey Scotty hope all is well and God bless you my fellow Volunteer. It has to be a wire somewhere. There's a procedure in the 2001 Infiniti Q45 FSM that says drive the car at least 30 mph for one min and then ground a certain pin from the OBD2 data link connector and the slip light will blink a number code to tell me exactly what the problem is. Do you know if the 4.1 V8 in My 01 Q45 are reliable engines?
Just out of curiosity have you checked the brake fluid? Low level will cause those lights to come on.. you can also just check your abs sensors for signs of damage
Yes I have
