2001 Mercedes CLK 430 100k miles automatic

Hey guys. I was considering buying this convertible. Scotty has a video where he recommends it. I've always wanted a convertible and one from Deutschland would be sweet. However, a mechanic friend cautioned me saying they tend to have problems with hard-to-come-by modules needing to be replaced periodically. Is that really true for older cars like this one? I figured an older car would have less issues like that. Let me know. Super curious.

Older means more deterioration of components and more problems. If you don't mind spending a fortune on parts and repairs (and expensive specialists if you won't be working on it yourself), sure, go for it. Better have a good Mercedes mechanic check it out before buying. ("24-year-old Mercedes Benz" is a synonym for "endless money pit".)

@chucktobias haha fair enough. Yeah, I'd be working on it as much as I could.

@chucktobias If I was you run from it as hell!!

@sophistikage BUT SCOTTY CAN FIX IT WHEN IT BREAKS!!!!
