Hello! 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora with the 3.5L V6. Automatic. 184,435 miles. Bought used from Private Party. Sometimes if you take off faster then normal take off it will feel like it's pulling itself without throttle. Rpm is around 1500 to 1800 sometimes. Will then have to restart car to get it to stop then it idles around 700 rpm. Sometimes it will pulse idle up and down after this occurs intermittently. No check engine lights. Don't know what to start replacing first? Anything need to know about these Aurora's? Nice car but hard to get parts for has it's hiccups. Thanks in advance. Sorry so long! Don't really know how to describe it!?
Well a zillion things can make a car lose acceleration start with simple things like spark plugs air filter fuel filter and pray that fixes it cuz if not it can get complicated fast then you could try stuff like any fuel cleaner to the tank and pray it's clogged injectors
Thanks. I will try plugs first. I used the Lucas Fuel Injection Cleaner an filled the tank with mid grade 89. It seemed to run a little better for a about week an then it started high idle again! With no check engine light on I would like to start cheap an work my way up but I don't want to sink a ton of money in it by just replacing part after part. Thanks for the help.
