2001 Tacoma SR5

Hello Scotty,

So sad to find out that you left Houston, hope you find peace wherever you settle in.

Anyways... I have a 2001 Tacoma with only 89K that my late father left me. I love this truck and it has a huge sentimental value to me. So i made some mods to it, one being bigger tires, but lately i have noticed that on the motorway i only go up to 75miles and even worse on an incline, also the petrol per mile has decreased substantially.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

You have fundamentally changed the final drive gear ratio with the larger tires.  If done correctly, the differential gear ration is supposed to be changed to compensate for the larger tires.  Few people do this because they think it looks cool with giant tires, but they quickly find out about problems like bad u-joints, speedometers that don't read correctly and transmissions that burn up.
