I recently purchased an 02 A6 Audi. It only went up to 40 MPH when purchased but now when I put it in drive or reverse it won’t even budge. What is wrong with this vehicle ? does knows ?

Likely something with the transmission and those cars are expensive to repair so I hope you didn't pay much for it. Take it to a qualified mechanic because they can help more than anyone can online.
