PLEASE HELP!!! I have a 2002 Civic LX (7th gen) 1.7L engine with 206,000 miles. About 300 miles ago I changed the timing belt and water pump. For the past 300 miles since it has run perfectly. All of a sudden today, while I was driving the engine suddenly stopped (I began to coast). I pulled over and the engine temp was through the roof and smoke/steam started coming out from the under the hood. I popped the hood and I saw that coolant had been spraying in the engine bay. Several hours later I was able to turn and drive 500 feet into my garage. I hooked it up to the computer and it gave the following codes:
P0117 -- Coolant temperature sensor
P1361 -- TDC (Top Dead Center) position sensor
P1298 -- ELD (electric load detector)
P0117 and P1298 look like easy replacements (along with the thermostat). However, P1361 has me confused. The engine has run great. I would think that if the timing was not right I would have felt it over the past 300 miles.
Could someone give some insight? I would REALLY appreciate it.
Thanks
Pray the head gasket isn't blown do my test how to tell if you had gaskets blown because if it is you'll either have to rebuild the engine or get rid of the car.the top dead Sanders sensor is inside distributor if it runs okay you can drive it but eventually if it breaks completely the car won't run and you have to replace the distributor
