I have a 2oo2 Chrysler neon with 89,000 original miles on it. I drive it daily every place.tick.but i notice it has a slight lifter tick..it runs good and strong. is this normal for a car with so little miles on it? Is this any big deal? Thanks
well make sure it's actually the lifters.
other things can tick too ... fuel injectors, something belt driven etc.
If it is a lifter then there's not much you can do about it anyway. Make sure you use the right oil and change regularly.
is it typically normal though for a engine with 89,000 on it? and if it is lifter can i still get alot of miles out of it with regular oil changes?
No. It's not normal for most cars. For a Neon .... they were intended to be budget friendly cars.
Yes, I think you can still get a lot of miles out it. A bit of oil additive might even quiet down that tick.
