My grandfather has a 2002 Dodge ram 1500 and I know the trucks are garbage but that is the only vehicle he can afford when it drives it runs acceptable but when it stops and idols it sounds like it’s going to die what do you think could be wrong with it

I would check for vaccum leaks.
Then clean out your air filter.
Check your fuel system
Clean your maf, idle control valve and throttle body with the right sprays.

My grandfather checked everything and done everything you said it Will not run right do you think there’s anything else
With respect to your grandfather I have not work on these cars and refer to more knowledgable member in the community.
