Sluggish throttle response

I have a 2002 Ford F150,  5.4, 22,000 original miles with original engine and trans, mint condition garage queen.  Rarely drive it except in town to grocery store or lumber yard or eat out.   Gets on freeway maybe once or twice each year.  Excellent maintenance since new.

Problem is that it's VERY SLUGGISH.   Very poor throttle response. Mileage is about 9-10 mpg in the city.   Whats the cure ?   Could it be injectors are clogged?    If injectors what is a safe additive or treatment?  What else could it be ? Air flow sensor dirty?   Thanks for your help.

there are so many possibilities ... dragging brakes, plugged catalytic converters, poor fuel pressure, dirty air filter, incorrect ignition timing ... it really needs deeper investigation by someone who knows what they're doing.

Have you performed a diagnostic scan for codes and live data? That's pretty much the first step in diagnosing an OBD2 vehicle.
