I have a 2002 Honda Civic need check engine light is throwing code p0740 I changed the solenoid and the code is still throwing it

Did you test the solenoid before replacing it, or check the other possible causes of that code?

Hondas of that time period are known to have weak transmissions so you should be prepared for more trouble down the road.

It did not fix the problem so I don't know what the problem is the code comes and goes I will delete it and it will go for a while and then it will come back so I'm not sure what the problem is it's not the solenoid cuz that's been replaced I replaced it today

Check the troubleshooting information in the link that I provided. If you're not able to do that troubleshooting you'd need to take the car to a transmission specialist.
