I have a 2003 Saturn Vue with the 3.0L V6 engine. Engine runs fine (I think cause it’s from Honda) but the transmission is plain crap. I’ve been having an issue where most of the time when I shift it into drive, the car seems to be “stuck” in neutral, to where I rev the car and it stays put, and maybe 1 or 2 seconds later it takes a huge jerk and shifts. It does not do this in reverse. Also for normal, daily driving, the car waits till about 4K to shift into another gear. What could be causing this?
Did you check the level of your transmission fluid? What is the condition of the fluid?
I don’t know, I haven’t checked it in a while. I will take a look. What am I looking for though
You are making sure it has enough fluid. It can't shift without it.
If the fluid looks really trashed, then the tranny is probably worn out.
Wear. Have you had any trans service or fluid replacement? Get it to somebody who has a advanced scan tool (and knows how to read it), so they can see what's worn out in your trans.
Yes, I’ve had the transmission (I think) replaced. Or it may have been serviced. I’ve had issues with it in the past, that’s why we brought it to get fixed
