Scotty,
Thanks for your service.
I mistakenly drove my VTX with 28,500 miles in 3rd gear for 15 or so miles going 75-85mph while on the highway. My ear plugs distorted my perception of what gear I was in being that I do not have a tachometer.
What should I look for in terms of instant damage? If any.

It's fine. They need to be ridden hard now and then.

Do not worry. You got a big bike and it can easily handle those riding conditions.

You just did the Italian Tune Up without knowing it. And probably removed all the excess carbon from your engine.
